Savant is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney, which we call Wealth Transfer Advisor, in Westwood, MA to help clients navigate complex estate planning decisions and align their wealth transfer strategies with their long-term financial goals. In this role, you will work closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners to evaluate estate planning structures, analyze estate documents, and develop thoughtful strategies designed to preserve wealth across generations while minimizing estate and income tax exposure. The Wealth Transfer Advisor partners closely with clients and their advisory teams—including lead advisors, financial planners, tax professionals, and outside legal counsel—to ensure estate strategies are well coordinated and integrated into the broader financial plan. This role is ideal for a collaborative estate planning professional who enjoys working directly with clients while also serving as a trusted resource to advisors across the firm.
The Wealth Transfer Advisor plays an important role in delivering sophisticated planning solutions to Savant clients, including:

Reviewing client estate plans and developing recommendations to support effective wealth transfer strategies

Analyzing estate planning documents and helping clients align distribution objectives with their broader financial plans

Collaborating with lead advisors, co-advisors, financial planners, and external legal counsel to ensure coordinated planning

Providing guidance on estate and gift tax planning, fiduciary income tax considerations, asset protection strategies, and estate and trust administration concepts

Delivering estate planning insights and recommendations directly to clients in meetings and discussions with their advisory teams

Supporting complex estate and business succession planning needs for high-net-worth clients

Serving as a resource to advisors and internal teams on estate planning questions, account titling, and beneficiary designations

Reviewing estate planning analyses, reports, and other deliverables prepared by wealth transfer team members

Mentoring and supporting the development of less experienced team members

Contributing thought leadership through articles, webinars, and educational materials in collaboration with Savant’s marketing team

Leading internal education initiatives to strengthen estate planning knowledge across the advisory organization

Supporting the maintenance of estate planning research resources, document libraries, and planning tools

Contributing to a collaborative team environment and supporting colleagues when needed

Education & Credentials

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

CFP® designation or progress toward certification is preferred
Experience

7–10+ years of experience in estate planning, estate and trust administration, or comprehensive financial planning

Demonstrated experience reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and related planning structures

Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, or business owners on complex estate and wealth transfer strategies
-
Experience collaborating with financial advisors, tax professionals, and external legal counsel to deliver coordinated planning
Technical Knowledge

Strong knowledge of estate and gift tax planning, fiduciary income taxation, and wealth transfer strategies

Understanding of corporate law concepts, financial industry regulations, and compliance considerations related to estate planning

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with financial planning or estate modeling software

The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $170,000-190,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions.
