The purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance to the court. This is accomplished by responding to requests and inquiries; processing and entering court information; processing payments, subpoenas, summons, and warrants; setting cases for trial; working with court dockets; and responding to attorneys. Other duties may include maintaining records and information.
- Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Sets cases for trial by reviewing information; entering data; scheduling and communicating case dates; notifying potential jurors; preparing dockets; and processing post-trial monies and records;
- Provides administrative support, including answering phone calls; distributing mail; maintaining records; processing warrants, bonds, accident and jail information; and ensuring records are filed and retained;
- Provides customer service to the public and outside agencies by answering phone calls and referring calls; processing correspondence and requests from defendants; receiving payments; scheduling payment plans; processing deferred disposition cases; and responding to defensive driving inquiries; and
- Performs other assigned duties.
- Qualifications
- High School graduation or equivalent;
- Two (2) years of administrative experience;
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Supplemental Information
- Knowledge of City policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Skill in the operation and use of standard office software, which includes databases and presentation programs, along with standard Microsoft products;
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing goals, priorities, and needs;
- Ability to work in a jail housing environment, which may include high noise levels, odors, and/or individuals displaying challenging behaviors;
- Ability to be certified for TCIC/NCIC and TLETS
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with City administration, other employees, and the general public.
- Municipal Court Clerk I Certification preferred;
- $15.87 - $23.17/hour
