Responsibilities:
- Advise on military, defense and government procurements and sourcing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations and contract law
- Draft, review and negotiate purchase/sales and other government and commercial agreements, with focus on military and defense related procurements
- Conduct legal research on regulatory requirements, government contracts and subcontracts
- Identify legal/compliance issues that may impact company activities
- Provide training to business groups on GSA, DFARS, and ITAR
- Develop and implement risk mitigation and compliance framework for the military and defense group
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing in Texas or admitted to the bar and in good standing in another state and eligible for licensure as in-house counsel in Texas
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, ITAR, DoD and US export compliance requirements
- Excellent verbal, written communication and comprehension skills
- Ability to interact with multiple levels in an organization and in multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to work effectively with global legal and compliance teams, with an international mind-set
- Ability to work and deliver results accurately in a fast-paced environment
