Senior Attorney (IV)

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage a high-volume caseload including but not limited to PERM applications, I-140 (PERM-based, Extraordinary Ability, and Multinational Manager), N-400, I-90, I-485, I-765, I-131.

Draft, review and/or revise petitions/applications, PERM Labor Certification audit responses and RFEs for filing with USCIS.

Effectively manage client relationships and supervise a team of paralegals for high-volume clients for all IV matters, including but not limited to overseeing client relationship meetings.

Conduct in-depth legal research to support client requests and projects.

Explain sophisticated immigration concepts and present strategic solutions for clients.

Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents.

Assess and evaluate client’s immigrant visa eligibility.

Support and address case and client escalations.

Support clients in immigration program management and compliance, including PERM program compliance, RIF impact and assessments (PERM program analysis/review) and overall IV updates that would impact program/ case flow, etc.

Utilize web-based immigration case management systems and database continuously and accurately.
Qualification Requirements:
-
5+ years of business immigration attorney work experience
-
U.S. Juris Doctor degree (J.D.)

Member of a state bar and in good standing with the associated state bar association

Ability to manage complex case strategies with company contacts and clients

Understanding of nuanced and complex immigration law concepts.

Ability to review Paralegal work product carefully and promptly

Ability to review case flow and ensure cases move efficiently and are flagged to HR when they are not moving timely

Ability to develop client and employee relationships with trust and empathy—to avoid escalations and forecast/flag areas of concern

Effective written and verbal communications skills, as appropriate for the needs of the audience (clients, governmental agencies, internal and external resources)

Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems

Strong organizational & time management skills, with the ability to prioritize

Ability to generate work product with considerable accuracy and attention to detail

Fluency of the English language in both written and verbal forms

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; and Case Management Systems – Salesforce (Litify), VisaTrax/INS Zoom and other Document Management Systems.
