Funds Attorney

Become Part of the Magnitude Team

Magnitude Capital, a dynamic alternative investment firm, is looking for a talented funds attorney to become a member of the firm’s legal and compliance team, supporting our existing funds business and new business initiatives. This position is ideal for a proactive and hard-working attorney who is eager to broaden their skillset and expertise in the hedge fund space.

What you will do:

• Review, document, and assist in the negotiation of investments in underlying hedge funds (e.g., summarizing terms, drafting side letters)
• Draft and assist in the negotiation of side letters with investors
• Support the firm’s existing funds of funds, including updates to PPMs, organizational documents, subscription documents, and investment management agreements
• Actively partner with other functional groups to support new business initiatives
• Advise on securities law and other regulatory issues associated with operating private investment funds
• Analyze new and existing laws and regulations
• Negotiate and document counterparty and borrowing relationships (e.g., credit facility documents, prime brokerage documents, ISDAs)
• Review and draft disclosures for marketing materials
• Review and negotiate vendor agreements and NDAs

What you have:

• 3–4 years of legal experience as a private funds and/or investment management attorney. In-house experience at a hedge fund or other investment firm is a plus.
• Experience with fund formation, drafting complex agreements and disclosure documents, and managing regulatory issues related to private funds and registered investment advisers
• Ability to handle multiple competing demands and exacting stakeholders

Compensation: The budgeted *salary* range starts at $170,000–$200,000. Total compensation will include salary, performance-based bonus, and full benefits. Total package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be highly competitive relative to market. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
