The Role and What You’ll Do:

This in-office position will be responsible for gathering, preparing and summarizing relevant materials for use by UFC attorneys and other legal counsel. They will interact daily with UFC attorneys and counsel  with respect to strategic and tactical corporate legal initiatives and maintain case files of new and existing complaints; perform legal research; index and track documents being sent to possible complainants.  In addition will be responsible for reviewing and drafting agreements, facilitate business transactions, review and distribution of legal correspondence and assist with managing and ensuring compliance of the Company in general and other duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for reviewing, tracking, and monitoring legislation that impacts the company’s products and/or processes.
  • Updating leadership with timely analysis and summaries of new legislation/regulations affecting the business.
  • Responsible for support related to litigation, mediation, arbitration, and responses to complaints.
  • Renewing and maintaining company licensing.
  • Drafting, filing, and managing various business entity documents for corporations, LLCs and partnerships with agencies.
  • Perform wide variety of legal research and data compilation.
  • Prepare affidavits or documents and maintain document files.
  • Review and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Liaise between in-house attorneys, outside counsel, organizations, and in-house employees.
  • Assist in Company’s intellectual property enforcement practices, including, but not limited to, documenting infringement, preparing cease and desist letters and other record keeping practices regarding the same.
  • Review and distribute correspondence related to legal actions and matters, and perform clerical duties, including scanning, copying and distributing department documents and mailings.
  • Other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

You Have These:

  • Paralegal certificate or Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
  • Two or more years of paralegal or combination of paralegal and legal secretary experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with individuals in all levels of the organization.  
  • Ability to analyze information and identify/develop options and solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret information accurately and concisely.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent proofreading and grammatical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and follow through.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone, calculator, cell phone, copier, fax, scanner, etc.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology.
