Hauptman Ham, LLP seeking a Trademark Legal Assistant

Hauptman Ham, LLP seeks a Trademark Legal Assistant to support several practice groups. The Trademark Legal Assistant assists trademark attorneys in the preparation of trademark prosecution and other legal work involving prosecution, monitoring and maintenance of domestic and worldwide portfolios. Performs legal research and compiles data from diverse sources. May be responsible for document organization and retrieval.

 The position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workload, communicate well with other members of the team, anticipate needs and identify solutions to problems. This position will report to the Trademark Attorneys Manager and may be called upon to support other practice areas, as necessary

 
 

Duties may include but not limited to:

  • Prepare and file USPTO and TTAB documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and prosecution filings
  • Manage deadlines for domestic and international trademark matters, ensuring timely execution and follow-up
  • Review and reconcile client and vendor bills for accuracy and compliance with firm/client guidelines
  • Assist with document productions, including coordinating attorney review and working with vendors
  • All other duties as assigned or required.

  • Willingness to perform entry-level functions as well as tackle higher-level projects

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Minimum two years of trademark preparation and filing experience required. Experience in working in Microsoft Office Suite and understanding of the USPTO and TTAB processes. Familiarity with Anaqua (AQX) is a plus.

Candidates who have JAPANESE reading and writing skills are preferred.

  • Excellent, spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Highly organized approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact with attorneys and clients.
  • Solid work history required.
