In-House Counsel

As we experience remarkable growth, with a 130+% year-over-year expansion for the past 6 years, we seek an exceptional In-House Counsel to oversee all legal activities while advising key stakeholders to ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, negotiate, and manage all provider and employment contracts.
- Provide counsel on various federal and state regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, fraud and abuse laws, Stark and anti-kickback issues, and licensure matters.
- Build state-compliant models while conducting regulatory diligence and oversight for existing and future markets.
- Review, negotiate, and approve real estate agreements including leases.
- Manage any labor and employment related disputes while creating and collaborating on policies and procedures to mitigate HR related risks.
- Serve as a resource for executive team members as it relates to the legal components of their various departments.
- Assist with ensuring awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and company policies and procedures.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of corporate or operational healthcare experience.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from accredited law school & active membership in at least one state bar where Serenity is active, preferably Arizona or Texas.
- Ability to identify and manage legal risks within the healthcare environment, including those related to insurance, patient care, operations, and financial matters.
- Expertise in negotiating and drafting contracts including employment agreements, payor contracts, corporate leases, and service vendor contracts.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing healthcare, and experience developing and implementing compliance programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments including operations, HR, marketing, revenue cycle & billing, finance, and IT.
