Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP is looking for a Human Resources Manager to lead and manage personnel administration, employee benefits, and insurance processes. With a focus on fostering a supportive and efficient work environment, you’ll play a key role in overseeing HR operations and employee relations for the Indianapolis and South Bend offices. You will act as a primary point of contact for employee benefits, personnel policies, and insurance coordination, working closely with multiple committees to ensure compliance and support firm-wide initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Human Resources Administration: Manage the entire employee lifecycle, from drafting offer letters and onboarding new employees to addressing handbook questions and approving time off requests. Coordinate personnel actions across various departments, including Accounting, Facilities, and IT, to ensure seamless HR support.
  • Employee Benefits Management: Oversee health, life, and disability insurance plans, assisting with employee enrollment, claims processing, and annual renewals.
  • Insurance and Risk Management: Manage insurance policies for health, workers’ compensation, and employment practices, ensuring all plans are up-to-date and handling claims when necessary. Act as the firm’s primary liaison with insurance providers and brokers for policy renewals and updates.
  • Employee Relations and Development: Support performance management through evaluations, addressing attendance issues, and participating in disciplinary actions when necessary. Coordinate employee recognition programs such as Employee of the Month and Administrative Professionals’ Day.
  • Policy and Compliance: Draft, review, and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Maintain personnel records, confidential files, and support special projects related to employee wellness, health incentive programs, and firm initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of HR management experience, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Proven experience in benefits administration and personnel management
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with employees at all levels
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
