What You’ll Do:
- Provide legal advice on privacy, data protection, and AI governance to teams across Datadog, including legal, product, engineering, information security, employment, and marketing
- Develop and mature Datadog’s privacy program by updating policies and notices, advising on data subject requests, conducting privacy and AI risk assessments, and embedding privacy-by-design principles into our product development and business processes
- Draft and negotiate privacy, data, and AI-related contracts with customers and vendors, acting as an escalation point for our commercial legal team
- Play a crucial role in responding to privacy and security incidents, including our regulatory response and customer communications, by partnering with our security incident response, customer trust, engineering, and trust and safety teams
- Monitor and assess global privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and AI laws, conducting gap analyses and implementing requirements to ensure Datadog’s compliance
Who You Are:
- JD from an accredited law school and have an active U.S. bar membership
- 3+ years of relevant privacy experience across diverse regulatory landscapes
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, internet services, and emerging AI technologies
- Expertise in global privacy and cybersecurity laws, including the GDPR, HIPAA, U.S. state privacy and breach notification laws, and the EU AI Act
- Skilled at working cross-functionally and communicating complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
- High integrity, excellent judgment, and well-articulated viewpoints
- Strong organizational skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to work independently, escalate appropriately, and manage competing priorities with minimal guidance
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

- Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of our product and space
- Best in breed onboarding
- Internal mentor and buddy program cross-departmentally
- Friendly and inclusive workplace culture
