This role will provide the opportunity to help build the compliance and trade program, engaging with all aspects of the organization to ensure the company is at the forefront of how they develop products and conduct business. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in international trade law, export control regulations, economic sanctions, and compliance matters. This role will involve advising on regulatory requirements, handling trade compliance matters, and ensuring adherence to global trade laws while supporting business operations across multiple jurisdictions.
Company headquarters are in Silicon Valley and there is an in-office requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Counsel and advise on activities relating to U.S. and international trade law, with a focus on export compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, IT, Supply Chain, and Product to coordinate compliance programs and initiatives.
- Update and refine company policies and procedures around compliance in line with industry standards and best practices.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including compliance, supply chain, logistics, and government relations teams, to ensure seamless regulatory compliance.
- Conduct internal audits and investigations related to potential trade compliance violations, advising on corrective actions where necessary.
- Monitor and analyze changes in global trade and export control regulations and assess their impact on the company's operations.
- Manage outside counsel
Qualifications:
- J.D. and admission to one state bar, preferably California.
- 8+ years of experience in export compliance, international trade law, or related regulatory practice.
- Strong understanding of U.S. export control laws, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, and related trade regulations.
- Ability to make tough judgment calls and think creatively to generate possible solutions and options for the business, including clearly articulating the risks and tradeoffs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across business units and jurisdictions.
- Ability to identify and work with outside counsel.
Pay Range:
P95-USA-1 :$178,500.00 - $255,000.00Disclaimer:
