Position Purpose

This position will be a leader that manages the attorneys responsible for supporting our business development teams, which includes the client intake process and other client-service teams. This team will be focused on providing legal support necessary to ensure a smooth and accurate intake process, providing accurate and timely updates to the client throughout the case, and helping answer client questions promptly and accurately.

This attorney must have experience working with a high-volume intake process that involves non-lawyers meeting with clients under the direction of the legal team and be familiar with ethical standards applicable to client intake. Experience training non-lawyers on using scripts and FAQs will be extremely helpful in this position. Experience leading audits to ensure that training, processes and scripts are being followed is also a plus. 

This leader must also be fully supportive of our mission and our approach of being intense advocates for our clients, and will leverage their knowledge of immigration law to help identify creative pathways to seek to get our clients documents. This leader must also motivate the legal team and regularly confirm that the attorneys remain aligned with the firm mission and approach.

This attorney will be a close partner with Business Development and Operational leaders to collectively focus on providing red-carpet client service and the ideal candidate will be constantly thinking about how legal decisions impact the client experience.  They will work with our operations leaders to capacity plan to ensure we have the appropriate attorney support and staffing for these teams to ensure all work is being completed and to develop processes to ensure that our attorney teams are working is a consistent and efficient manner.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Help lead attorney teams supporting the business development and client services teams to provide red-carpet client experience and maintain ethical standards
  • Manage team preparing training, scripts, and other resources to non-legal teams
  • Ensure that clients are provided with accurate and timely answers to their legal questions
  • Ensure that legally accurate updates are provided to clients throughout case
  • Motivate assigned attorney teams and ensure they are aligned with firm mission and approach
  • Work closely with operational leaders to ensure teams have sufficient, accurate and consistent legal guidance to meet client needs
  • Lead team auditing business development and client services to ensure that training, scripts and processes are being followed properly
  • Regularly update training, FAQs, and processes to ensure legal accuracy and consistency
  • Perform legal and factual research as necessary

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Experience with client intake processes in a high volume environment
  • Legal team management experience
  • Ability to lead attorney team to stay motivated and aligned and serve as advocate for firm mission and approach
  • Experience developing scripts and processes and then training on scripts and processes
  • Immigration knowledge including experience with humanitarian cases such as VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, and Medical DA applications a plus.
  • Strong legal research and drafting skills
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of ABA accredited law school
  • Barred to practice law in a state or territory of the United States
  • Over 5 years of experience as an attorney
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
