The Assistant General Counsel and Global Trade Director, Legal Services, will provide legal advice and counsel on proposed transactions to ensure compliance with sanctions regimes and end-user restrictions worldwide, including the Export Administration Regulations administered by the Department of Commerce, sanctions programs administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and antiboycott regulations administered by the Department of Commerce and the Department of Treasury.

This position will also manage defense-trade registrations; perform due diligence associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; support the preparation of Jurisdiction & Classification determinations (e.g., Commodity Jurisdiction determinations and requests for classification under the Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System) and advise on contract terms that implicate Global Trade issues.

This position will regularly brief executive leaders within RTX and Collins Aerospace on key transactions and on regulatory developments. The position will also coordinate enterprise-wide responses to rapidly evolving sanctions programs and end-user restrictions.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze transactions for compliance with controlling law worldwide.

  • Administer Collins Aerospace’s sanctions-screening and due-diligence program, leveraging digital tools and sanctions-compliance professionals to ensure that Collins Aerospace (1) does not engage in prohibited transactions, (2) does not deal with denied parties or sanctioned countries, and (3) does not cooperate with prohibited international boycotts.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to government agencies, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Office of Antiboycott Compliance.

  • Administer internal, enterprise-wide policies on due diligence, sanctions compliance, trade embargoes, denied-party screening, and antiboycott compliance.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience

  • Must hold a Juris Doctor.

  • Ability to communicate clearly—particularly in writing.

  • Experience in conducting internal investigations.

  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and to provide clear guidance to internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and quickly to identify potential trends or issues.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
