POSITION SUMMARY:
The AGC, Litigation will be a key strategic leader of the Legal Department and will provide legal advice and counsel to cross-functional partners in the business, including Integrity & Compliance and the US Commercial team, on a day-to-day basis in furtherance of the accomplishment of overall business objectives in compliance with applicable laws and the company’s standards of business conduct. This role is also responsible for leading and managing Indivior’s claims and litigation matters and will help create and drive legal strategy across the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzing, developing and delivering litigation and dispute resolution strategies in line with Indivior’s business requirements to reduce risks. Ensuring that services are timely, targeted and of the highest quality
- Provide counsel for compliance and business colleagues to ensure compliance with company’s legal and regulatory obligations
- Identifying areas of company risk, developing proposals to mitigate risks, and leading implementation of mitigation strategies
- Tracking and advising senior management on claims and litigation developments, exposures, and strategies for minimizing adverse consequences from disputes
- Monitoring legislative developments and trends and, as a result, proactively shaping Indivior’s litigation function and litigation governance
- Reviewing and managing litigation budgets and external counsel expenditures and supervising outside counsel in handling litigation
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including but not limited to, Master Services Agreements, Contracts for Services, and Consulting Agreements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission and membership in good standing to the bar of at least one state (with subsequent admission to Virginia or admission at Virginia Corporate Counsel as a condition of employment)
- 10 years or more experience practicing as an attorney
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous litigation experience and management of outside litigation counsel
- Previous pharmaceutical or life science experience
- Previous experience under a CIA
