Job Description

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
·  2+ years of prior paralegal experience OR relevant Woodforest Banking experience required.

Formal Education & Certification:
·  Paralegal certification is preferred.
·  Associates degree or higher preferred.

Work Status:
·  Full-time.

Supervisory Responsibility:
·  None.

Travel:
·  0% - negligible travel is expected.

Working Conditions:
·  Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.

The Paralegal position provides support to the Bank’s Legal Counsel Department by performing administrative duties, assisting with case management, preparing and filing certain legal documents, maintaining a legal filing system for the department, and preparing department reports.

Key Responsibilities:
·  Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department by responding to calls, scheduling meetings for attorneys, communicating with other departments throughout the Bank, maintaining calendars, preparing reports, and performing other tasks.
·  Administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, emailing, and scheduling calendar appointments.
·  Assists attorneys’ fact investigations and with preparation of certain legal documents such as nondisclosure agreements, forms, briefs, pleadings, contracts, etc.
·  Assists attorneys when new matters come into the department.
·  Performs other job-related duties or special projects assigned.

Competencies Required:
·  High level of attention to detail with a view to thoroughness and accuracy.
·  Ability and willingness to act with discretion and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
·  Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail.
·  Ability to manage multiple projects, monitor and track progress, and follow-up as needed.
·  Post-college writing skills with a strong command of the English language including excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation.
·  Excellent oral communication skills, customer service, and relationship management skills; ability to foster effective business partnerships with a variety of internal and external parties at all levels.
·  Ability and willingness to communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional, calm and courteous manner, using tact and discretion.
·  Highly developed skills in time and task management.
·  Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
