Burr & Forman LLP has an immediate opening in our Jacksonville, FL office for a full-time transactional legal practice assistant in the commercial real estate department. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
• Actively participate in the closing process, including distribution of signature, assembly of documents, and final closing coordination
• Conduct typical post-closing work, including organization of document transcripts
• Prepare signature pages and transaction binders
• Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings, travel, and closings
• Maintain calendars including transaction deadlines
• Enter billable time and edit time and pre-bills as needed
• Process expense reimbursements
• Answer incoming calls; prepare documents for shipment; and distribute mail
• Open and maintain client files and organizational documents
• Respond to inquiries for information
• Other responsibilities as needed
THE ESSENTIALS
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and able to type 50 wpm
• Highly organized, detail-orientated, and proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team
• Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Some overtime may be required
