Job Purpose 

In your role as a full time Legal Assistant, you will provide support to Compliance by drafting documents, conducting legal research, and performing a variety of administrative tasks.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities


Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files, monitoring calendars, meeting deadlines, documenting actions, and tracking case information. 

  • Helps develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved, scheduling depositions, preparing, and forwarding summonses and subpoenas, drafting complaints, preparing, and filing discovery requests, preparing responses to opposing counsel and generating status reports. 

  • Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review. 

  • Drafts investigation reports related to compliance matters. Safeguards employee confidentiality and other company proprietary information. 

  • Prepares and edits communications, correspondence, presentation materials and other documents.  

  • Edits and proofreads employment and other personnel documents. 

  • Handle various administrative tasks, ad-hoc legal, employment and compliance projects. 

  • Other duties or projects as assigned. 



Qualifications

The successful candidate profile includes: 

  • A strong litigation background with minimum 3 years’ experience 

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion 

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite  

  • Must be able to meet deadlines regularly 

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills required 

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Solid time management skills with the emphasis on the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple detail-oriented tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Is self-motivated and requires limited direction
