ELS is hiring for the position of Counsel in Tampa, Florida.What you’ll do:
The Counsel provides the company and its employees with legal advice and protection on a variety of legal matters.
Your job will include:
Advise on legal issues, including contracts, property interests and government regulations.
Ensure that advice is practical and strikes a balance between legal risks and pragmatic business needs.
Prepare, negotiate and review company contracts, requests for proposal, non-disclosure agreements, licensing agreements, employment contracts and other legal documents.
Develop the company’s policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance and/or regulatory affairs.
Consult with management, commercial advisors, tax experts, accountants and marketing staff.
Exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on relevant laws and research.
Experience & skills you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree.
Juris Doctor degree and a member in good standing with the applicable state bar association.
10+ years of experience working in corporate law, including taxation, mergers and acquisitions, contracts and corporate finance.
Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on company needs.
Excellent research, written and verbal communications skills and expertise in negotiating with various parties.
Dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to highly sensitive information.
Willingness and ability to travel to legal proceedings as necessary.
