Legal Department Assistant

Position Summary: The Legal Department Assistant provides high-level administrative and project support to the attorneys of the Cross Insurance legal department. This role will assist with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) coordination. This role also supports various corporate executives and business initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet, and capable of handling complex projects in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide direct administrative and project-related support to in-house attorneys and senior leadership.

· Organize and manage the execution of legal documents and operational contracts.

· Serve as liaison with acquisition targets, brokers, and advisors to coordinate all phases of the M&A process, including negotiation, due diligence, contract finalization, and deal closing.

· Maintain and manage the company’s contract database; act as the primary point of contact for related inquiries.

· Process and track invoices from outside counsel

· Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned.

· Assist with various reporting requests including business production, sales goals,

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Pre-Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field required.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

· Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

· Experience in a legal, corporate, or insurance environment preferred.

· Ability to work independently while aligning with corporate strategies and objectives.
