This vacancy is for a GS-0260-13, Equal Opportunity Manager located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OPERATING LOCATION-CIVIL RIGHTS DETACHMENT REGION 1 located in Washington DC.
Duties You will serve as a/an Equal Opportunity Manager and be responsible for serving as the functional subject matter expert and program administration, providing civil rights services for respective region/zone location. Implementing policies and compliance for the Coast Guard's military equal opportunity (EO) and civilian equal employment opportunity (EEO) programs. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Conducting legal research and referencing the appropriate laws, regulations and policies within prepared decisional letters to complaint parties. Managing the discrimination complaint cases within the area of responsibility. Serving as source of in-house expertise on equal opportunity and equal employment opportunity matters, providing leadership, professional guidance, and technical assistance. Ensuring accuracy of data within the case management system for tracking progress of informal and formal complaints. Implementing agency EEO/EO programs to resolve complex, systemic problems that impact employment policies or practices of the Coast Guard units within their area of responsibility.
