We are seeking an energetic, eager and responsive Paralegal to join our growing team at our corporate office in Saint Louis Park, MN. Reporting to the Sr. Paralegal on this team, this role will assist attorneys with a variety of day-to-day tasks to support all bank departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and support response on subpoenas and other legal notices
- Review and report on litigation and bankruptcy proceedings that impact the bank
- Review, prepare and negotiate non-disclosure agreements and similar confidentiality agreements
- Review and provide analysis on vendor contracts
- Assist counsel in the preparation, review, and modification of various agreements and templates
- Implement agreements and templates into contract automation software
- Prepare initial drafts of amendments, waivers and other modifications to loan documents
- Review title insurance commitments and title insurance policies
- Interact with lenders and provide support for loan transactions and closings
- Assist in the organization, preparation, and review of board and committee materials
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or paralegal certificate, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Paralegal and/or in banking or related industries.
- 2+ years of paralegal or similar experience
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of relevant legal areas is a plus, including banking, litigation, real estate, commercial lending, title insurance, and bankruptcy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and creatively while exercising sound judgement
- Proficiency in technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Contract Express, or similar contract automation software or basic programming is a plus
