Position Summary: 

The CIO is responsible for all IT systems and services to the company. Working closely with the Business Heads of each functional area he/she develops IT strategies and plans to support the company’s business, objectives and priorities. The CIO is a member of the Executive Team and is accountable for the successful implementation of systems and for the delivery of reliable and responsive IT services. The role is also accountable for operational infrastructure supporting the company. 

 

It is critically important that the candidate has extensive work experience in our industry (Legal) and is fully conversant with HIPAA and data privacy regulations. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • IT Planning & Business alignment across all functions of the company 
  • IT Infrastructure Strategic and Operational Planning 
  • Enterprise Systems Architecture 
  • Technology Standards and Policies  
  • Systems Development & Support for all functional areas supported 
  • Infrastructure Services  
  • Project management & Accountability for all major systems development projects for the company 
  • Project management and accountability for all infrastructure-related plans and projects 
  • IT Security and the company’s Cybersecurity profile 
  • Setting objectives and strategies for the IT department and performance management of the IT team 
  • Budget and cost management of IT   
  • Personnel management 
  • Selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations to help optimize their strategic benefits 
  • Designing and implementing systems and platforms to improve customer experience 

Qualifications: 

  • BSc/BA or higher in Computer Science  
  • Minimum of 15 years of broad experience in Information Technology field  
  • Minimum of 5 years in an IT Leadership position (CIO of comparable size company or Direct Report to the CIO in a major corporation) 
  • Fully conversant with HIPAA and GDPR regulations 
  • Experience with FileVine and Power BI would be a real advantage

  • Effective, visible and articulate leader with a reputation for establishing collaborative working relationships with his/her business counterparts and capable at guiding positive organizational change 
  • Strategic thinker with a business mindset who can translate strategies to executable plans and capable of overseeing successful global implementations of major systems and services 
  • Team player capable of gaining the respect and trust of all the business leaders of the company to whom he/she can be counted on to provide guidance, advice and support on all IT matters 
  • FileVine and Power BI implementation experience would be an advantage 
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms & services and virtualized environments 
  • Experience with major System Development Methodologies and related/supporting collaboration and documentation tools and platforms (i.e. JIRA, etc.) 
  • Experience or background in managing and delivering infrastructure services would be an advantage 
  • Experience in managing and contracting outsourced environments 

 

Physical Requirements:   

  • Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.    
  • Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.   
  • Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.  May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area. 
  • Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.   
  • Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs. 
  • Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. 
  • Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
