Troutman Pepper attorneys are dedicated to providing pro bono legal services to strengthen communities and improve fairness and accessibility to our justice system. The Pro Bono Coordinator works with the members of the Pro Bono Team to support firm-wide pro bono programs and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Facilitate the opening of new pro bono matters in firm systems and databases, working with attorneys and staff to ensure timely engagement letters and accurate matter profiling.
Facilitate closing pro bono matters.
Support Pro Bono Team with processes related to incoming and departing attorneys, including transitioning pro bono matters.
Coordinate schedules, meetings, and logistics related to pro bono programming, meetings, and events, both virtual and in-person.
Coordinate pro bono events and trainings, including but not limited to, making room reservations, drafting and distributing invitations, tracking RSVPs, ordering food and beverage, and compiling evaluations, working with local office staff as appropriate.
Support relationships with external stakeholders, including lawyers and staff from other law firms, legal aid organizations, bar associations, and other community partners.
Maintain Pro Bono Team calendar, as well as the calendar for Pro Bono Director & Counsel as requested.
Support marketing and PR efforts for the pro bono program, including coordinating with appropriate firm administrative departments and maintaining the pro bono internet and intranet pages.
Track expenses and monitor pro bono budget, including facilitating and tracking charitable contributions.
Provide administrative support to Pro Bono Team members, including making travel arrangements, submitting expense reimbursements, and preparing pro bono presentations and other materials.
Coordinate with firm administrative departments to support the needs of the Pro Bono Team, including, for example, working with the graphics team to provide sponsorship ads and creating internal recognition items.
Maintain electronic files and paper records for documents and communications related to pro bono client matters and Pro Bono Team activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Commitment to pro bono and/or community service.
Ability to assess competing priorities and effectively and efficiently tend to competing demands.
Attention to detail.
Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment and interest in contributing new and creative ideas to support pro bono program.
Strong communication skills with a variety of audiences, including clients and Troutman Pepper attorneys and staff at all levels, as well as external partners and other stakeholders.
Ability to establish and cultivate effective relationships with attorneys and business professionals.
Uncompromising commitment to producing high quality work product and maintaining confidentiality on all client matters.
Expert skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and internet navigation
Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, or another foreign language is a plus but not required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience coordinating pro bono programs in a law firm.
