About the Position:
The City of Grand Junction is searching for a Court Clerk to perform a variety of technical and administrative functions in support of municipal court services, parking ticket payments, ordinances, regulations, and records management. This position will provide assistance and customer service to the general public, as well as a variety of duties for defendants and court hearings. This position will also support and assist the Municipal Court Judge during court sessions and works closely with the City Attorney’s office. The position reports to the Municipal Court Administrator.

About the City of Grand Junction Municipal Court:
The City of Grand Junction is a court that handles traffic, misdemeanor, animal control, and juvenile cases. The Municipal Court Judge is appointed by the City Council. The Judge represents the judicial component of the court, the City Attorney is the prosecutorial component of the court, and the Administrator represents the business operation of the court.
What You'll Do:
- Respond to customer inquiries about ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures; research and direct to appropriate City departments.
- Perform data entry of case and investigative information, including warrant entry, arrest, suspect, vehicle, location, property and evidence information and field interviews for in-house records management system, National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC).
- Perform computer inquiry of NCIC/CCIC systems for wanted persons, warrant information, driver history and registration, attempt to locate, property, guns, vehicles and other information; perform computer inquiry of various database systems utilizing in-house software.
- Provide customer service for municipal court and parking services, including ticket processing, payments, and coordinating court-related deadlines.
The selected candidate must comply with the City of Grand Junction’s Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for handling and securing payment card information.

What We're Looking For:
- Three (3) years of administrative support experience. Experience in court, judicial and/or law enforcement or related field is preferred.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain clearance to access NCIC/CCIC data.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
