The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office is accepting applications for a position as Legal Secretary - Intake Specialist assigned to the Criminal DivisionThe Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is responsible for the filing of adult felony charges, both felony and misdemeanor juvenile charges, advocates for crime victims, represents the Children Services Board in abuse, neglect, and dependency cases, pursues the collection of court ordered child support, and is legal counsel to a number of county elected officials, offices, and agencies. The legal secretary assigned to intake greets law enforcement officers, visitors, and accepts deliveries. In addition, the position handles all incoming calls. Other duties include assisting other administrative staff with criminal charges, correspondence, court documents, case files, and discovery material.
Office hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
The salary range is $17 - $19/hour, depending upon the experience level of the applicant.
The position is full-time with benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance. Employees are enrolled in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System with access to a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. Employees also receive paid time off for vacation and sick leave, in addition to other benefits. - Duties/Responsibilities
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
•Responsible for case intake through a case management system, involving manually or electronically inputting or transferring information, such as opening new matters, scanning and uploading documents, and processing digital media.
•Greet law enforcement officers, elected officials and other county government clients, citizens, victims, and witnesses.
•Operate a multi-line phone system by answering, screening, and directing calls to attorneys and others in the office.
•Candidates must be adaptable, dependable, and have a strong work ethic.
•Organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and proficiency in Word are necessary.
•Confidentiality of information must be maintained.
•Process mail, assist with the Grand Jury process, including processing documents and other materials.
•Other duties as assigned.- Minimum Qualifications
•High School Diploma or Equivalency.
•Valid Ohio Driver License.
•Must have strong communication skills.
•Must have a professional appearance and attitude.
•Skilled in use of computer, photocopiers, and other office equipment.
•Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work cooperatively with staff.- Supplemental Information
