Job Description

Rust Belt Resources has partnered with a highly respected, regional law firm on a detail -oriented and proactive Litigation Paralegal<\/b> to join their team in Charleston, West Virginia. <\/p>

In this role, you will take ownership of litigation files and provide comprehensive support to attorneys through trial preparation, administrative coordination, and client communication. Key duties include:
<\/p>

  • Case & Litigation Management:<\/b> Draft discovery documents, assist in preparing key legal filings (petitions, motions, responses, notices), and manage the litigation docket.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Filing & Deadlines:<\/b> Handle electronic filing (e -filing) in both state and federal courts and diligently calendar all case deadlines.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Trial Preparation:<\/b> Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including the compilation of trial notebooks.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Record Coordination:<\/b> Order, track, and organize medical and billing records.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Case Administration:<\/b> Schedule depositions, handle client inquiries, and assist with general administrative duties (typing, formatting documents, scanning, and filing).
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Transactional Support:<\/b> Assist attorneys with transactional real estate and corporate matters as needed.

    Requirements<\/h3>
  • Experience:<\/b> Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal, ideally with a focus on litigation.<\/p><\/li>

  • Education/Certification:<\/b> Paralegal certification is a strong plus, but not required.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Technical Proficiency:<\/b> Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Soft Skills:<\/b> Outstanding organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities with an uncompromising eye for detail.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Confidentiality:<\/b> Absolute commitment to maintaining strict client and firm confidentiality.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Work Style:<\/b> A client -focused attitude with the ability to work independently while remaining a highly collaborative team player.
