§ Duties
The selected attorney will engage in high-level litigation and advisory work, focusing on a broad spectrum of insurance-related matters. The role demands a keen analytical mind capable of interpreting complex policy language and providing strategic counsel on multi-faceted risk exposures. Primary responsibilities include:
⨖ Evaluating complex first-party and third-party liability claims to determine coverage obligations and potential exposure.
⨖ Litigating sophisticated insurance disputes, including allegations of bad faith, professional liability, and reinsurance disagreements.
⨖ Drafting comprehensive coverage opinions, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda that synthesize intricate statutory and case law.
⨖ Representing the interests of primary and excess insurers in state and federal courts throughout the litigation lifecycle.
⨖ Managing diverse caseloads involving professional indemnity, commercial general liability, and specialized reinsurance treaties.
§ Qualifications
Prospective candidates must demonstrate a high degree of technical competence and a proven history of success in insurance law.
⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with a record of academic excellence.
⨖ Active Bar licensure in the jurisdiction of the prospective office.
⨖ Minimum of three (3) years of direct insurance coverage experience; a minimum of ten (10) years of experience is required for candidates applying to the Houston, TX office.
⨖ Prior experience handling complex litigation involving first-party commercial property or third-party liability claims.

⨖ Exceptional legal research capabilities and a command of advanced legal writing techniques.
⨖ Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage time-sensitive deliverables within a fast-paced environment.
⨖ Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary for depositions, oral arguments, and client consultation.
