The Legal Assistant is responsible for supporting general legal matters, both US and global. As part of a small legal team, your scope of projects will be broad and your impact immediate. We value collaboration and collegiality, the ability to build strong partnerships across the organization and a thoughtful and diplomatic approach to addressing a wide array of legal issues.
What You Will Do:
- Assist with general corporate matters.
- Facilitate negotiation and documentation of Investment Management Agreement (“IMAs”) and investment guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge management systems relating to IMAs and other legal documents and corporate records.
- Maintain the legal existence and good standing of multiple corporate entities and investment vehicles.
- Assist with the maintenance of the firm’s private fund complex, including US and Cayman funds.
- Oversee annual board meeting process for Cayman funds.
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the Legal Department.
- Manage legal responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI) and audit requests.
- Assist with regulatory filings required by US Securities and Exchange Commission and in various jurisdictions.
- Assist with AI initiatives applicable to the Legal Department.
- Performs special projects, as needed.
What You Will Bring:
- Seven plus years of legal assistant experience; paralegal certification; Am Law 100 experience a plus.
- Familiarity with investment management, financial services and/or heavily regulated environments.
- Eye for detail and eager to play a part in the broader legal and compliance function.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and ability to apply skills to new subject matter areas.
- Multi-task, prioritize with limited supervision, make reasoned judgments and recommendations.
- Self-starter with a desire to learn and build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Team player, keen to learn from others and energized by continued professional development.
- Service-oriented attitude, with ability to provide timely responses to business requests.
Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $53.00 - $65.00 per hour at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other forms of compensation such as, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
