Full-Time | Experienced Immigration Attorney
Godoy Law Office Immigration Lawyers is seeking a passionate and driven Immigration Attorney to join our growing team in Chicago. This role is ideal for a licensed attorney with experience or a strong interest in EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) representation and removal defense. We handle many immigration matters—from family-based petitions and citizenship to complex deportation defense and federal litigation.

Key Responsibilities
• Represent clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) in both detained and non-detained settings
• Handle all aspects of removal defense, including bond hearings, individual hearings, and appeals
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and supporting documents
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court testimony and immigration interviews
• Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and other attorneys to ensure thorough and strategic case preparation
• Maintain timely and effective communication with clients and their families
• Stay up to date on evolving immigration policies, EOIR procedures, and legal precedents

Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in any U.S. state (Illinois preferred)
• 1+ year experience in immigration law, particularly removal defense and EOIR representation (preferred but not required)
• Fluent in Spanish and English (Required)
• Exceptional writing, organizational, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong courtroom presence and confidence managing a full EOIR docket
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay focused under pressure
• Values collaboration, takes initiative, and is passionate about helping others
• Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and integrity in client interactions
