 Senior Compliance and Corporate Paralegal

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Department: Legal & Compliance
Reports To: SVP of Compliance and Corporate Relations
Employment Type: Full-Time

 Job Overview

The Senior Compliance and Corporate Paralegal plays a critical role in supporting the legal and compliance functions of the organization. This position is responsible for managing complex contract workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting legal research, and assisting in the development and enforcement of internal policies. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of corporate law, contract management, and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

This role also requires strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, as the paralegal will often be involved in addressing customer disputes, managing sensitive communications, and supporting the legal team in matters involving litigation or the threat thereof.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts (NDAs, vendor agreements, service contracts, etc.)
  • Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Conduct legal research on federal, state, and international compliance requirements
  • Monitor regulatory changes and advise internal stakeholders on potential impacts
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and training
  • Maintain contract databases and ensure timely renewals, amendments, and terminations
  • Support internal audits and investigations related to compliance matters
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory agencies as needed
  • Prepare reports and summaries for senior management and legal teams
  • Assist with customer disputes, including gathering documentation, drafting responses, and supporting resolution efforts
  • Support document production in matters of litigation or regulator inquiry
  • Apply conflict resolution and negotiation strategies to help de-escalate issues and protect company interests
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support corporate initiatives and ensure legal alignment
  • Mentor junior team members and assist with workflow management
  • Liaise with outside counsel as needed

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field
  • Paralegal certification from NALA, NFPA, or ABA-approved program preferred
  • Minimum7 years of experience in a legal or compliance role, with a focus on contracts and dispute resolution
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contract law
  • Proficiency in legal research and have familiarity of legal research and contract management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and negotiate effectively in high-stakes or sensitive situations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity

 Preferred Skills

  • Experience in corporate compliance and risk management
  • Ability to apply legal expertise across various areas of law, 
  • Proven success supporting cross-functional corporate initiatives with legal insight
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international corporate compliance standards 
  • Project management experience or certification

Salary
  • $68,000 - $81,000
