Duties
- The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity. As a General Attorney (Privacy), the incumbent
- Advises on employment authorization documents, E-Verify, E-Verify+, and Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, pursuant to the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 and Immigration Reform and Control Act.
- Advises on the administration of Systematic Alien Verification Entitlements (SAVE) and verification-related laws and policies, as well as advising on the REAL ID Act.
- Provides additional legal support as necessary in such areas as federal records, electronic systems, biometric collection, privacy, and information sharing.
- Resolves questions and, provides accurate legal advice to both attorneys and non-attorneys on complex legal matters.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/28/2026. You qualify at the GS-13 level if you: are currently an attorney in federal employment with the equivalent of being a GS-12 and at least one year experience at that level, or if not a federal employee and you have at least one year of post-J.D. professional legal experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.
