About the Position: This position is located at Fort Knox, KY. If you are currently serving in a permanent, competitive service appointment in the Federal service, and are selected for this position, the appointment will remove you from the competitive service while you occupy this position.
Duties- Serves as an Attorney-Advisor to the Command Group, Command Directors, management officials and supervisors and PDA.
- Represents the Department of the Army as a trial attorney before arbitrators, investigators, and administrative judges from various agencies.
- Conducts extensive research in connection with all cases.
- Prepares and presents appeals within the Commander's authority and/or prepares memoranda of the law and facts to the appropriate appeal authority.
- Provides legal advice on all aspects of Government acquisition and contracting and on the operation of appropriated fund expenditures.
- Serves as an Ethics Counselor and assists in administration of the Command's Ethics Program.
