JOB SUMMARY
The Claims Litigation Analyst – Senior plays a critical role in the support of litigation activity within the Claims Department. This role is responsible for performing complex data analysis, managing litigation discovery, processing legal invoices and claims-related payments, testing litigation systems enhancements, and collaborating with internal and external business partners. The position also involves mentoring junior staff, contributing to team projects, and participating in catastrophe response. This position is an on-site role; employees must live within a 50-mile radius of Citizens' Jacksonville, FL office. Visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance not available.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Models ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens' core values, ethics, and information protection policies.
- Research, compile, and analyze complex statistical Claims Litigation data on routine and ad hoc basis, as needed for senior and executive level management. Prepare reports (including charts, graphs and/or written summaries and presentations) of Claims Litigation data and statistical analysis, as needed for senior and executive level management.
- Conduct the review, testing, and training associated with the functionality and enhancements of Claims and Litigation Management Systems.
- Conduct research, and as the subject matter expert, lead the response to Litigation Discovery requests and execute with credibility.
- Research and process Claims indemnity and expense payments. Conduct reviews of complex claims and litigation files. Review and process Claims Litigation legal invoices for payment in compliance with Citizens’ guidelines for Legal Billing.
- Participate in issue identification and resolution, as well as risk identification and mitigation. Act as liaison with all business units to maintain strategic link to business needs. Participate in and support Claims Litigation department and team projects.
- Oversee, train, and mentor internal and external business partners and less experienced staff; may provide input in the performance management, goal setting, and review processes. Participates in catastrophe response, as needed.
- Performs other essential duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of complex claims adjusting, specifically applicable to the litigation process.
- Ability to learn the functionality and application of all computer systems used within the Claims Litigation department.
- Ability to perform complex analysis on Claims Litigation data and deliver reports to management.
- Demonstrate ability to solve complex problems through analytical approaches. Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to complete short- and long-term projects.
- Proven organizational and planning skills; evidenced by the ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work with multiple software systems.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and adapt to frequent changing priorities.
- Ability to recognize problematic situations and put into effect creative solutions.
- Delivers quality work product with limited supervision
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate/Technical degree OR 2 years relevant experience, OR a combination of both college and experience equivalent to 2 years.
- 5 or more years of experience in Claims Litigation.
- Must possess a valid, active and appropriate Florida adjuster license within 90 days of employment and maintain it as a condition of continued employment. Appointment required.
- Within 90 days of employment, must successfully complete all requirements of Citizens Fundamental Claims School which includes obtaining an overall passing score
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with skills transferable to insurance.
- Active Florida Adjuster License (620 or 644).
- Industry certifications or designations.

What percentage of time is accountable for short-term operational goals? 25%
What percentage of time is accountable for transactional, day to day operational support? 75%
