Bonezzi Switzer Polito & Perry Co. LPA is a respected mid-sized defense firm with a strong statewide presence. We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our Cleveland office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney looking to gain hands-on experience, manage cases, and work alongside seasoned trial attorneys in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
As an Associate Attorney, you will play a key role in managing litigation matters from inception through resolution. You will work closely with senior attorneys on insurance defense and general liability cases while also developing your own case management skills.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery
- Assist in developing case strategy and evaluating exposure
- Represent clients at depositions, hearings, and court proceedings
- Support trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit coordination
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members
- Prepare legal reports, status updates, and correspondence

What We’re Looking For
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Ohio Bar License (required)
- 3–5 years of litigation experience (insurance defense preferred)
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage cases independently with appropriate supervision
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Professional, proactive, and team-oriented approach
- Proficiency with legal research tools and case management systems
- Experience in insurance defense or general liability litigation
- Deposition and courtroom experience
- Ability to handle a moderate caseload with increasing independence
