Job Title: In-House HR Attorney
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced In-House HR Attorney to lead our HR operations, ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering a vibrant workplace culture. This pivotal role involves overseeing a variety of HR activities, managing employee relations, performance management, compliance, and policy development. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with management and employees to create a positive work environment that aligns with our organizational goals and values. A strong understanding of HR best practices and healthcare industry regulations, coupled with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:Compliance and Legal:
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations within the healthcare sector.
- Stay informed about updates in HR laws and collaborate with the HR Director to implement necessary policy revisions.
- Revise HR policies, employee handbooks, and relevant documentation in partnership with the HR Director.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
HR Policy and Procedure:
- Develop, implement, and continually update HR policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate and enforce company policies to all employees.
- Ensure uniform application of HR policies throughout the organization.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze HR data to identify trends and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Prepare and present reports on key HR metrics such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and recruitment effectiveness to senior management.
Employee Relations:
- Cultivate a positive work atmosphere by addressing employee concerns and grievances with professionalism.
- Conduct thorough investigations when necessary and resolve issues in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
- Encourage open communication and a supportive workplace culture.
- Collaborate with management to administer disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
Performance Management:
- Develop and implement effective performance management systems to assess employee performance.
- Provide guidance to managers on addressing performance issues and creating development plans.
- Ensure consistent and fair evaluations through conducting performance appraisals.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to enhance their skills and performance.
- Set clear performance goals and offer regular constructive feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience within the healthcare industry.
- Preferred professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
- In-depth knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Familiarity with employment laws and regulations, such as ADA, FMLA, and EEOC.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
- Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
