POSITION TITLE: Full-Time Assistant District Attorney
LOCATION: Johnston County Office Tishomingo, OK
STATUS: Full-Time
CLOSING: Open Until Filled
SALARY: Commensurate With Experience and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: Located in the heart of Lake Country, District 20 is the home to Lake Murray, Lake Texoma, Lake of the Arbuckle’s and the Chickasaw National Recreational Center, Tuner Falls, as well as Lake Crest Hotel & Casino at Lake Murray, Winstar Casino, Artesian Hotel & Casino, and soon the Hard Rock Café at Lake Texoma. Johnston County is the home of Bake Shelton’s Ole Red Restaurant. The Office is located in the Country Seat of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. This office is an Assistant-one ADA office. The office is open Monday-Friday 8:30-5 and closed for an hour for lunch
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant District Attorney is responsible for managing satellite office with little daily oversight. Attorney will prosecute all crimes varying in severity from traffic citations, drug crimes, violent crimes of all types, misdemeanors and felony alike.
Attorney will be responsible for filing, prosecuting, and representing the State in all facets of the criminal case in Johnston County and occasional traffic to the other counties.
Attorney may advise county officials as requested. Attorneys will handle all juvenile cases including deprived and delinquent.
Attorney will work closely with other attorneys, staff, partner agencies, law enforcement, defense attorneys and the bench.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Prior prosecution experience is preferred but not required.
1plus years of legal experience.
Juris Doctorate from accredited law school. Admitted to and good standing with Oklahoma Bar Association.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Licensed and Legal Attorney.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Applicants must possess strong writing and research skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and work with law enforcement, elected officials, attorneys, and other agencies. Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background check and have no criminal history.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be professional in work ethic with the public, law enforcement agencies, lawyers and court officials. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk and carry items for short distances. This position requires that individuals can lift a minimum of 20lbs.
