
Position Title: Knowledge Strategy Counsel – Litigation

Base Compensation: $200,000 - $300,000 Annually

This is a pivotal role for an experienced legal professional passionate about the intersection of law, technology, and strategy. You will serve as a strategic partner to our litigation practice, driving the development and implementation of sophisticated knowledge management systems and innovative solutions. Reporting to senior leadership within our Practice Innovation group, you will be instrumental in enhancing the efficiency, quality, and competitive edge of our legal services.
Core Responsibilities
The Knowledge Strategy Counsel will be a central resource for our litigators, with responsibilities that include:
- Strategic Knowledge Development: Curate and manage the intellectual capital of the Litigation department. This includes developing, drafting, and maintaining a comprehensive suite of precedent documents, practice-specific guidance, and internal knowledge resources. You will establish and oversee a center of excellence for legal content, ensuring our attorneys have access to best-in-class materials.
- Innovation and Technology Integration: Act as a subject matter expert on legal technology, with a particular focus on the application of generative AI and other advanced tools. You will collaborate with practice leaders to identify opportunities for process optimization, champion the adoption of new technologies, and contribute to the firm’s overall data and AI strategy to enhance our litigation capabilities.
- Practice Support and Attorney Development: Serve as a key advisor to our legal teams, providing expert consultation on complex legal inquiries and supporting client development efforts, including responses to pitches and RFPs. You will play a crucial role in designing and delivering training programs that keep our attorneys at the cutting edge of legal developments and practice skills.
- Collaborative Leadership: Build and maintain strong working relationships with partners, associates, and professional staff across the firm. You will act as a liaison between the Litigation practice and various administrative departments, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on strategic initiatives.
Candidate Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of legal excellence and a strong aptitude for innovation.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as a practicing litigation attorney within a distinguished law firm setting. A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing are required.
- Technical Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in drafting sophisticated legal documents and a keen interest in emerging legal technologies, including artificial intelligence platforms. Prior experience in knowledge management, process improvement, or legal operations is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities are essential. The ideal candidate will be adept at distilling complex information, influencing stakeholders, and presenting with confidence.
- Strategic Mindset: Possess superior problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to manage multiple high-priority projects. A collaborative and creative approach to overcoming challenges and a commitment to driving meaningful change are paramount.
