Job Summary

This position will be a key partner in the North American Legal team in support of the company’s continued corporate growth, including advising on logistics, operations, Human Resources, and finance matters. The position will provide legal advice to a broad range of internal clients and actively negotiate contracts with counterpartiesThis position reports to General Counsel of Midea America. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements across multiple functions, including Human Resources, Aftersales, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, and other support departments, as well as confidentiality agreements. 
  •  Provide legal guidance to Human Resources on matters such as employee relations, performance management, investigations, and employment disputes. 
  • Manage dispute resolution processes, including settlement negotiations, participation in mediations, and drafting or reviewing settlement and release agreements. 
  • Advise on general legal and business matters, including internal issues, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, compliance, and strategic decision-making. 
  • Oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, distribution, negotiation, execution, and record management. 
  • Lead communications and processes related to contract disputes, terminations, and renewals 
  • Other tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of substantive commercial transactional experience, with a focus on relevant agreements either at a law firm, in-house or a combination of both. Experience in the appliance industry is preferred.  
  • Demonstrated contract drafting skills, with strong negotiation and analytical skills, as well as business acumen. 
  • Active member, in good standing, of the New Jer Bar or be able to obtain an in house license in 6 months. 
  • Working knowledge or interest in employment law is a plus.  
  • Strong ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workload and be a flexible multi-tasker able to juggle shifting priorities and tasks. 
  • Detail oriented, with excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Must have high degree of professionalism, strong sense of integrity and strict confidentiality
