About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Fort McCoy, Installation Legal Office, Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. If you are currently serving in a permanent, competitive service appointment in the Federal service, and are selected for this position, the appointment will remove you from the competitive service while you occupy this position.
Duties- Provides assistance and advice on environmental law, real estate law, force protection/operational law, administrative law, fiscal/contract law, and law enforcement to the Commanders and staffs at Fort McCoy.
- Advises the Commander and his staff in the application of and compliance with all Federal, State and local Environmental laws, regulations and rules, to include all interpretations by courts of competent jurisdiction.
- Assists in the drafting of legal documents concerning the use of installations' real property and facilities over 60,000 acres in Wisconsin by other DoD, federal, state and local agencies and by private companies and individuals.
- Advisor and legal authority on force protection, physical security and domestic operational law requirements.
- Advises the command on policy for implementation and enforcement of criminal and administrative law under the United States Code and DoD and Army regulations.
- Provides professional legal advice and representation to active duty and retired personnel, family members and authorized civilian personnel.
- Command advisor to the Resource Management Office on all areas concerning Fiscal Law including availability of appropriations funds, interagency acquisitions and construction funding.
- Backup advisor to the Mission and Installation Contracting Command regarding issues pertaining to the Federal acquisition process.
- Legal advisor regarding Administrative Law matters including Command authority, ethics and ethics training, OGE 450 Confidential Financial Report certifications, AR 15-6 investigations, jurisdiction, real estate expense reimbursement claims, etc.
