The Attorneys at Harris Beach are in search of an Administrative Assistant. This talented individual will be responsible for providing administrative support to multiple attorneys in the areas of business and commercial litigation, energy, and corporate. You will thrive in this role if you have:
- 3-5+ years of legal administrative assistant experience (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree (preferred)
- Experience in litigation (required)
- Exceptional oral and written communication, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form, and style
- Excellent multitasking and time management abilities
- Superior client service and listening skills for anticipating needs of clients and attorneys
The Administrative Assistant will prepare and process legal papers and documents requiring knowledge of legal format, terminology and procedures. Do you have the drive and desire to:
- Type from draft, oral dictation, or recordings, a variety of correspondence and legal documents such as resolutions, opinions, contracts, briefs, leases and agreements
- Ensure that written communications are appropriately drafted, written, reviewed, edited, proofed, finalized, signed, distributed, and filed for effective and efficient retrieval
- Receive, screen and transmit telephone and conference calls and messages to attorneys, clients and staff
- Calendar and track upcoming court deadlines
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, date stamp and distribute promptly upon receipt
- Coordinate travel arrangements, securing air, hotel and car plans for attorney and clients
- Set up and maintain firm files designating disposition of files to storage as appropriate
- Coordinate conferences, meetings and appointments for attorneys and clients including conference room scheduling, meals and preparation of materials

Salary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position, geographic locations and weekly hours schedule. The anticipated weekly schedule for the Administrative Assistant in Albany is 37.5 hours per week.
