Duties This position serves as the Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Manager for the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Alabama and is responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance involving three or more IT specialty areas. The USAO IT environment includes personal computers, routers, switches, bridges, a wide area network and local area network, operating systems, case management systems and litigation support operations. Duties include: Supervision: Planning, organizing, assigning, directing, scheduling and evaluating the work of all employees in the unit. Perform advanced and complex systems design, development, test, and implementation of substantially new applications of technology to meet specialized, unique, or unprecedented needs of the USAO. Design, document, develops, test, install and implement new applications software. Systems Analysis. Plan and design new and improved information systems to meet the needs of customer requirements. IT Systems/Network Administration: Maintain district-wide responsibility for testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance and management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video format. Ensures systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency. Systems Security: Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. Internet: Plan, design, develop, test, implement and manage internet, intranet, and extranet activities, including technical management of websites. Customer Support: Provide customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training in response to user requirements.
