Chubb Insurance is the world's largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer. Chubb's Connecticut House Counsel firm, Musco & Iassogna, is seeking an experience and skilled Connecticut Litigation Attorney for a Casualty Attorney position. This Casualty Attorney will defend Chubb Insureds in a variety of litigation including insurance defense, premises, auto,  products liability, and general negligence litigation  matters in both State and Federal Courts in Connecticut. 



Qualifications

A successful candidate must be an attorney, licensed to practice before Connecticut's state and federal courts, should ideally possess 5+ years of demonstrated success in litigation a wide range of Connecticut tort matters, and should possess the professional stature and business acumen needed to be a productive member of the firm. The successful candidate should also possess:

  • Expertise in litigation premises liability, motor vehicle liability, products liability, contractual indemnity, including complex medical and economic damages. 
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for trying cases to a jury, with demonstrated successful trial experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Connecticut State and Federal Court procedural law, pleading, discovery, motion practice, and pretrial techniques and strategies. 
  • Advanced oral and written advocacy skills, with a demonstrated track record of motion practice /summary judgment success.
  • Knowledge of the substantive law applicable to Connecticut tort defense litigation, with advanced analytical skills needed to address complex legal issues.
  • Commitment to communicated effectively and strategically with clients regarding litigated matters, including consistent adherence to time-sensitive formal reporting requirements.
  • Commitment, enthusiasm, and skills necessary to provide excellent customer service to clients, Claim Department customers, and internal customers within the firm.
  • Technological savvy needed to thrive as a litigator in a digital environment. 
  • Commitment to teamwork and ability to work effectively with other as needed to advance the firm's business.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and carefully in a high-volume environment. 
  • Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
