ProspectBlue has partnered with a nationally recognized health law firm and is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Medical Malpractice Defense team in Richmond, Virginia. We are looking for a litigation attorney with a background in complex civil defense or medical malpractice who is eager to take on challenging, meaningful work while growing within a collaborative and supportive environment.
What You'll Do:As a member of our litigation team, you'll play an active role in every stage of the defense process. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing cases and developing effective litigation strategies
- Working directly with clients and collaborating closely with experienced partners
- Consulting with medical experts to build and defend cases
- Drafting pleadings, conducting written discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing motions, and assisting with trial preparation
- Gaining valuable courtroom experience while expanding your litigation skills

What We're Looking For:The ideal candidate will have:
- A J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Virginia Bar or eligibility to waive into Virginia
- Three to ten years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice defense or complex civil litigation
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology or the aptitude and interest to develop that expertise
- A strong client-service mindset and a commitment to ongoing professional development
