Job Description

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Support Staff Coordinators oversee and organize the activities of support staff assigned to one or more bureaus and fall under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources. Support Staff Coordinators assess, designate and assign workloads, allocate resources, coordinate the activities and monitor time and attendance of support staff.

It is the responsibility of the Support Staff Coordinators to prepare and perform annual evaluations for all assigned support staff to provide feedback on the individual's work-related performance. Support Staff Coordinators shall use discretionary judgment in determining if interim evaluations are warranted.

The Support Staff Coordinators are responsible for providing Human Resources with all employee evaluations in a timely fashion. Support Staff Coordinators identify and secure resources for bureaus and their assigned bureau managers or supervisors. Support Staff Coordinators effectuate office policies and practices, which may include the authority to direct, transfer, counsel, discipline, or reprimand support staff. Support Staff Coordinators assist bureau managers and supervisors in providing recommendations to executive management regarding actions which may include suspension, layoff, hiring, recall, promotion, reward, or discharge. Support Staff Coordinators also identify and address training needs and coordinate training activities.


Qualifications

This position requires a bachelor's degree in human resource management, social science, psychology, business administration, public administration, or a related field, with at least 3 years of responsible supervisory or management experience, or any combination of comparable education and experience. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.

Experience in a Legal field preferred.

Must possess a valid Drivers' License, proof of insurance and ability to travel throughout the state.
