Job Title: Legal Intern

Job Summary:

A Legal Intern assists the Chief Legal Officer and the Legal Department in managing legal matters across Church’s Texas Chicken. This includes providing administrative support for ongoing legal cases, assisting in drafting legal documents, conducting research, and helping with various corporate and compliance issues. The Legal Intern will gain practical experience in corporate law, contract management, litigation, and other legal functions within a fast-paced environment. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. 
  • Conduct legal research on various topics, including compliance, labor laws, intellectual property, and litigation. 
  • Support in the management of corporate legal files, ensuring all documents are properly organized and accessible. 
  • Help prepare and maintain internal reports regarding ongoing legal matters. 
  • Assist in the preparation of legal briefings and memos for internal stakeholders. 
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assist in ensuring company compliance with new laws and regulations. 
  • Attend meetings with legal counsel and other departments, taking notes and tracking action items. 
  • Support the Legal Department in the review of vendor contracts and any associated legal issues. 
  • Assist with internal audits and investigations, providing research and documentation as needed. 
  • Organize legal documents and ensure proper filing and documentation for all cases and agreements. 

Position Requirements (Education, Qualifications, Experience): 

  • Enrolled in a law degree program at an accredited university or law school (preferably in the second or third year). 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0. 
  • Knowledge of basic legal principles and practices, with a strong interest in corporate law. 
  • Strong research and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various teams. 
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work products. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with legal software is a plus.
