Job Description

Lumexa Imaging is seeking an experienced, thoughtful, and business-oriented Senior Operations Counsel to join its legal team. This attorney will provide day-to-day legal support across Lumexa’s national outpatient imaging platform, including its outpatient imaging centers, managed physician practices, IDTF-related operations, and related business functions.   The Senior Operations Counsel will work closely with operational, physician, compliance, and executive leadership to provide clear, practical, and timely legal advice on a broad range of healthcare operational matters. The role is intended for an experienced healthcare lawyer with strong regulatory judgment, sound business instincts, and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to supporting a complex, multi-site provider platform.   This is an operations-first role. It is anchored in healthcare operational and regulatory counseling, physician-model support, and effective leverage of legal team resources. The role will also support selected growth initiatives, partnerships, and transaction-related matters.   Key Responsibilities:   Provide day-to-day legal support to Lumexa Imaging’s operations, including outpatient imaging centers, managed physician practices, IDTF-related operations, and related business functions. Advise on healthcare operational, regulatory, contracting, and sales and marketing matters. Provide legal guidance on physician and referral-source relationships and related issues. Support physician employment, compensation, governance, and alignment matters. Advise on payor and other operationally significant commercial arrangements. Review, draft, and negotiate agreements central to the Company’s operating model, including services agreements, compensation models, research agreements, and other strategic agreements. Partner with Compliance and business leadership to identify legal risks and develop practical recommendations. Support de novo, operational, and other strategic initiatives by advising on legal considerations and implementation issues. Assist with partnerships, joint ventures, and other growth or transaction-related matters. Develop practical guidance and training on legal and regulatory issues affecting the business. Supervise and help develop junior attorneys and legal staff. Manage outside counsel effectively and efficiently.   Candidate Profile:   The successful candidate will be an experienced healthcare lawyer with strong operational instincts, sound judgment, collaborative mindset, and a practical style. This individual should be comfortable handling a broad range of matters independently in a fast-paced environment and should work effectively with executives, operators, physicians, compliance professionals, and outside counsel.   Preferred Experience and Attributes:   At least 10 years of legal experience in healthcare law, with substantial experience in healthcare operations, contracting, and regulatory counseling. Strong experience advising provider organizations, physician practices, IDTFs, or other multi-site healthcare platforms. Meaningful experience with physician, referral-source, payor, and other healthcare arrangements. Experience supporting business initiatives and strategic transactions in a healthcare setting. Prior law firm and in-house experience preferred. Experience in a growth-oriented, private equity-backed and/or public  company environment preferred. Practical, business-oriented, and solutions-minded. Clear and effective communicator with strong judgment and discretion. Strong prioritization and project management skills. Credible with executives, physicians, and operational leaders. Effective in supervising junior lawyers and managing outside counsel.
