- Position Summary
Performs a variety of complex criminal investigations for the District Attorney’s Office, including assisting and coordinating efforts with other law enforcement agencies and assisting in court and/or trial preparation and testimony.

- Direct supervision by Chief Investigator.
- Maintains work records and case files and prepares reports, billings and other administrative documents.
- Works with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in the coordination of case activities and their development for legal action.
- Works closely with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in locating, arresting and prosecuting fugitives.
- Functions as a liaison with location and outside agencies when conducting major investigations to ensure prosecutorial standards are met.
- Networks with local and outside agencies.
- Locates and interviews victims and witnesses and records their statements.
- Interrogates suspects.
- Locates, collects and preserves evidence; arranges for technical analysis of evidence as appropriate.
- Writes reports of investigations and confers with attorneys regarding cases.
- Testifies in court; advises prosecuting attorneys of facts likely to be presented in testimony.
- Photographs, video tapes and sketches crime scenes.
- Develops informants.
- Analyzes network statements of persons suspected of white collar crimes.
- Performs convert, undercover and surveillance assignments.
- Performs community relations work.
- Provides office security.
- Serves subpoenas and summons.
- Serves as course instructor.
- Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
- What You Have
EDUCATION:
- High School or GED equivalency required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in criminal justice or equivalent experience preferred
EXPERIENCE:- Minimum of one year law enforcement experience required
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:- POST Certification CRS 16-2.5-104(1) required
- Valid driver’s license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver’s license at time of hire
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:- Must successfully pass background check
