Job Description

That’s where you come in!  We are actively searching for a Credit Specialist in our Minneapolis, MN office with 2+ years of experience to join our team. This position offers you flexibility to work from home and in the office.  

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Collect and monitor the firm's accounts receivable.
  • Monitor short paid bills and work with attorneys in the appeal process
  • Understand law firm billing and client payment cycles.
  • Generate and distribute monthly account statements and provide copies of invoices as needed to support the statement balances.
  • Contact billing attorneys and clients regarding past due balances.
  • Work collectively with the Billing Manager to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain client collection files and spreadsheets.
  • On a weekly basis, review balances and identify accounts that are not within normal payment cycles and follow up with attorneys and/or clients.
  • Provide weekly status reports to management.
  • Process credit card payments.
  • Enter new client/matter information and update the system as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding outstanding invoices and payment status.  

Experience and Skills:

  • Associate degree in accounting preferred or a combination of work and education equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of accounts receivable experience (law firm experience preferred).
  • Solid computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Aderant or legal billing and ebilling sites preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Highly organized and process focused.
  • Strong math aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team-centered work values.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision after training.
  • Display a “whatever it takes” attitude.

Salary Range:  $75,000 - $82,000 DOE
