What you will be doing
The Legal Operations Project Manager will assist with planning, monitoring, and managing Legal Department projects and initiatives from initiation through completion. The Project Manager will lead and/or assist with the coordination of project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, documentation, troubleshooting, and people management. This role ensures that the project results meet the requirements and are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
The position will be based in Boise, ID, Pleasanton, CA, Plano, TX or Chicago, IL.
Main responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Legal Operations Manager to assist in monitoring the Outside Counsel spend against budgets through reporting both at the matter level and the Department level.
- Research and prepare responses to inquiries from our Finance partners.
- Meet with the Commercial Litigation lead regularly to manage their accruals, budgeting, and financial reporting for current matters; and
- Collect and document forecasting from law firms for each fiscal period.
- Conduct new user training on Legal Tracker
- Manage and/or assist in the Implementation of new legal technology solutions, including requirements, configuration, and testing.
- Identify and implement procedural efficiencies through technology solutions.
- Manage Department SharePoint sites to keep information current and relevant.
- Manage the organization and maintenance of legal department records handled by Legal Operations, including, but not limited to, online subscription services contracts, technology contracts, retainer letters, pricing agreements, Outside Counsel Policy exceptions, and others assigned.
- Manage all Department-wide meetings by coordinating with LLT members and Legal Operations Manager on dates, content, and sequence. Prepare and present presentation decks, including guest and internal speaker presentations.
- Work closely with Legal Department personnel to manage the onboarding of new Legal Department vendors and outside counsel firms.
The salary range is $72,100 to $93,640 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility).

What we are searching for
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Technology, Business Administration) or at least 3 years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with legal technology systems and processes, including Legal Tracker, Contract Management, eBilling, Data Analytics Tools, Document Management, and Business Intelligence Tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work on-site and during core business hours
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Applications – specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint Point and SharePoint. (Knowledge of Visio, Power BI, Forms, Power Automate, a plus).
- Demonstrated aptitude for technology; ability to quickly learn new software applications
