Job Summary: The Legal and Protective Services Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in public safety, investigative and police procedures, and protective services to high school students in a vocational technical environment. The teacher will develop curriculum, assess student performance, and prepare students for careers in law enforcement, emergency management, and related fields. Key Responsibilities: • Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging curriculum that aligns with state standards and industry requirements. Integrate hands-on learning opportunities and real-world applications. • Instruction: Deliver lessons in investigative and police procedures, criminal justice, emergency response, ethics, and protective services. Utilize a variety of instructional methods to meet diverse learning styles. • Assessment: Evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and practical demonstrations. Provide timely feedback and support to enhance student learning. • Career Preparation: Prepare students for career pathways in legal and protective services through guest speakers, field trips, and industry partnerships. Facilitate job shadowing and internship opportunities. • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and safe learning environment. Establish and enforce rules and expectations to promote respect and responsibility among students. • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends, instructional strategies, and educational technology. • Collaboration: Work with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular projects and contribute to school-wide initiatives. Engage with local law enforcement and legal professionals to enhance program relevance. • Advisory Role: Serve as an advisor to students interested in legal and protective services careers.
